Dan Callan has been a member of Douglas County Fire/EMS Department since 1998 and currently services as A Shift Captain, Operations. He is a licensed paramedic with over a decade of experience and is scheduled to graduate in 2024 with a degree from Columbia Southern University in Fire Administration. 

Captain Callan currently resides in Villa Rica, Georgia and has lived within a 10-mile radius of Douglasville for over 50 years. His professional goals include obtaining his bachelor's degree in Fire Administration, and a master’s degree in public administration.   

Captain Callan’s personal mission statement is “be silent in execution but deafening in performance”. His skills include effective team building skills with a relentless pursuit of excellence. He inspires participation by setting a positive example and being hands on involved in every single activity that the  team is tasked with.

Captain Callan is an extremely motivated and professionally minded with a passionate desire to assist colleagues in reaching their full potential, therefore making our organization better prepared to handle the increasing workload with excellence, efficiency, and professionalism second to none.

 Finally, Captain Callan enjoys spending time with his family. He routinely takes short vacations to state parks for hiking and sightseeing with his family. He also enjoys playing music and completing ultra marathons with his son Kyle. He has been happily married to Karin Callan for 24 years.
